Our Clients
For over 15 years, HJB Bowdens have provided Contract and Permanent IT recruitment services to Government, corporate and not for profit organisations located in Queensland.
We have sourced and managed a large number of recruitment assignments since our inception for many leading organisations covering all levels of IT related positions. HJB Bowdens are registered for GITC and are presently a member of a number of preferred supplier recruitment panels.
Case Study
HJB Bowdens is a preferred supplier to a major Government agency, supplying a range of IT contract employees to their project management, data communications, security, desktop, network and application development areas. Most of these contractors are in long-term assignments and perform the functions of permanent employees, however, no performance management system was in place.
Recognising this situation, HJB Bowdens worked with the agency to devise a formal performance management system for the contractors.
The program is made up of regular reviews, which consist of the HJB Bowdens consultant sitting down with the contractor and their hiring manager every 3 to 6 months to review the contractor’s performance. The review consists of:
- Assessing the performance of the temporary employee for the review period in line with their job description and key performance indicators;
- Determining what they like and don’t like about the position; and
- Identifying learning and development opportunities.
Since the introduction of the performance management system, there have been benefits for the agency, our contractors and HJB Bowdens, including:
- For the Agency - the reviews allow for a more managed and structured performance management system;
- For the Contractors - the temporary employees receive real and quantifiable feedback from the client; and
- For HJB Bowdens - the performance management system can be used as a measure of client and candidate satisfaction and gives us a better understanding of both parties.
Case Study
Hamilton James & Bruce won a bid to recruit a new CIO into a major NSW Government organisation. Their existing CIO had resigned with little notice and they needed a replacement as soon as practical. The client had previously recruited this role themselves and found it to be a difficult task. They hoped that by going to Hamilton James & Bruce, we would be able to make a quality placement in a short period of time.
We demonstrated to the client that we understood all the Government processes and could provide the appropriate services. By taking recruitment tasks away and giving the client a single point of liaison, they also realised that it would make the entire process a lot simpler for them.
Keeping the client fully informed throughout the recruitment process, we were able to provide a high quality shortlist within the timeframes originally agreed.
Following the interviews, the CEO stated that he was impressed with the quality and capability of the candidates he had met. In fact, he felt that the final decision was "pleasantly difficult" as he would have been happy to offer the role to two candidates.
A final offer was made and accepted, and all concerned felt that the process had a successful outcome.
